My Zen Master used to say to me all the time “Daniela, don’t kick yourself out” through a thick Korean accent. I swear to this day; that man could read my mind. How does not kicking yourself out relate to Integrity? Everything. I talk a lot, and at times even preach about Integrity on Instagram, but really, it’s such a huge spiritual and human practice. I talk about it because for a long time I was not in it. I remember holding the tenants or the theories of the tenants of spiritual ideologies, but not putting into practice. From staying in a relationship that was harming me, to never saying no, to sacrificing myself over and over. I did not know at the time that it was all part of Integrity.
Integrity is hard at times. It asks us to show up authentically and to do what’s right especially when it’s not popular. It forces us to look at the uncomfortable, edgy, non-conventional parts of life and stand up to them or with them. It asks us to be an individual and to respect the individuality of others. It places us back into our humanity fully.
Integrity isn’t just doing what is right when no one is watching, it’s also doing what is right when you have a huge audience. Integrity is honoring your inner most self and that of others. Integrity calls for the patience that is required in the long game. Integrity forces us to look at our choices fully and assume the responsibility that is there when it comes to us and all that we are and all that we do.
The thing about integrity though is that it’s a huge spiritual condom.
I remember the first time my guides said that to me, and I laughed and then realized the depth of that. It does not matter what someone says and does toward me, they end up hurting themselves more because in the end I honor me all the way. It has not always been this way and it is an everyday practice. I have a huge tendency to over sacrifice and over give. To be the savior and the martyr.
Integrity has a palpable energy. It helps with trust. It helps with intimacy. It helps you be a reliable person. It protects you from spiritual attacks and mal de ojo. It supports you when everything is falling apart. It’s an ultimate blessing and most of all, IT FEELS GOOD. It feels good because you are being you. It feels good because you are channeling divine guidance and love.
It’s okay if you fail at times.
We are human and overcoming our limited conditioning is a challenge. It matters that you show up every moment and be consistent with it. Just like just about everything else. I speak about Integrity because globally and as a society, it is our biggest lesson. It is being infused deeply into our subconscious and it is divinely driven. Integrity even boosts business. Integrity is here to stay.
